Tainan 台南 is a large city on the west coast with many sights, like the Confucius Temple 孔子廟 and the remnants of the first Dutch settlement from the 17th century at Anping Fort 安平古堡. Nice areas to wander around are the Confucius Temple Business District 孔廟商圈 (an awkward name for an artsy area with boutique shops and small restaurants) and the Blueprint Culture & Creative Park 藍晒圖文創園區 (in our opinion more about shopping and hospitality than culture). Tainan's Huayuan Night Market 花園夜市 is the country's largest.
