Green Island 綠島
A relaxing getaway about an hour off the coast from Taitung.
A slightly more accessible island than Orchid Island is Green Island 綠島 (Lǜdǎo), about an hour off the coast from Taitung. Get there from the Fugang Wharf. It makes for a relaxing getaway of one or two nights, with natural hot springs, snorkelling and scuba diving.
Like Orchid Island, it can be cut off for days as soon as a storm or typhoon is coming, so make sure you can travel back before you go.
