Kaohsiung 高雄
Taiwan's second-largest city, a vibrant port on the south-west coast.
In Kaohsiung we liked the Bo'er Art District 駁二藝術區, the mountain- and beach-side National Sun Yat-sen University 中山大學 area, and the Qijin 旗津 peninsula (the oldest part of the city, reached by a 5-minute ferry), where you'll also find a fresh fish market. Don't miss the city's night markets, for example the central Liuhe 六合夜市.
