Meinong → Kaohsiung 美濃 → 高雄

From Meinong, make your way south today past the badlands around Tianliao 田寮. You'll also pass the country's largest Buddha statue at Foguangshan 佛光山.

Just before hitting Kaohsiung city centre, you pass through Zuoying and the Yuandi Temple complex 左營元帝廟北極亭, with its dramatically shaped dragons and pagodas on a small lake. About 10 km later you'll arrive in Kaohsiung 高雄, Taiwan's second-largest city. We advise you to stay in the Yancheng 鹽埕 area, as many hotels are here and it's conveniently located for all main sights.
